There are around 10 or more companies who want to buy your old mobile phone from you. They are listed on this page, and include companies such as Sell Your Mobile, Envirofone, MoPay, Sell Old Phone and Money 4 Ur Mobile, to name a few. Even Boots offer to buy some old phones.

So if you have an old, or even several phones, that you want to sell, these are the companies who will pay you for it. They are essentially phone recycling companies, and want your old phones for spare parts, or maybe to re-sell.

How much you can sell your old mobile phone for depends on a few things:

What type of phone you have to sell?

Obviously newer, more high tech phones, such as the Apple iPhone, a newer Blackberry model, or Nokia N91 8GB, are more likely to get you the higher amounts. But you can still get a few pounds for quite an old phone, such as the Nokia 1100.

Is your phone broken or in good working order?

Obviously if your phone is working you will get a better deal for it. But don't despair if your phone is broken. You can still get some OK money for it, as the recycling companies will still want it for spares and stripping for parts.

Once You've Found the Best Price...

After that, you will be asked to complete some basic information (most importantly, who and where they send the money to!). Then you'll normally be asked to send the mobile phone through the post. Each company offers guidance on how to do this, but it's usually nothing more complicated than packing the phone in a padded envelope, sticking a stamp on it and dropping it in the post. In fact some recyclers, such as MoPay, even offer a Freepost service, so you won't even have to pay for a stamp!

How you get paid...

Most of the recycling companies will send a cheque to you through the post. Some have other offers, such as vouchers for High Street stores, and Boots pay with their "Boots Points" which will be put on your Boots card.
